The Trips were born during a conversation at a Memphis bar one night between Randy and Andrew. They were talking about music, as they frequently do. Andrew said, "We should start a band." Randy said, "Okay.

Like all bands, the Trips evolved, with some people leaving and others joining along the way.

The final lineup was:

Andrew - Lead vocals/rhythm guitar

Randy - Drums

Jason - Lead/rhythm guitars/backing vocals

Mike - Bass

Will - Keyboards/guitars

But there would never have been a Trips band without all the other Trippers along the way: Tim, Ron, Rocky, Pat, and Fletch.

Most members of the Trips went on to form or join other Memphis bands.
